THE RESEARCH PROJECT FROM SERBIA AMONG THE WINNERS OF THIS YEAR EUROPEAN UNION AND EUROPA NOSTRA AWARD FOR CULTURAL HERITAGE: STUDY OF FOLK ARCHITECTURE OF THE VILLAGE GOSTUŠA

Brussels / The Hague, 7 April 2016 – The European Commission and Europa Nostra, the pan-European network of civil organizations active in the field of heritage, today reveals the winners of the European Union and Europa Nostra Heritage Award in 2016. Twenty eight laureates from 16 countries has been recognized for their extraordinary achievements in the field of conservation, research, dedicated service, education, training and raising awareness of the importance of cultural heritage. An independent jury reviewed 187 applications from 36 countries in Europe and chose 28 winners. Among the winners this year there is a research project from Serbia, Study of Gostuša village in the municipality of Pirot, made by architects-conservators of the Institute for Protection of Cultural Monuments Niš!
