THE FINAL EVENT MARKING THE JUBILEE “50 YEARS OF THE INSTITUTE FOR CULTURAL HERITAGE PRESERVATION NIŠ”

Marking the jubilee “50 years of the Institute for Cultural Heritage Preservation Niš”, first European award for Serbia (Gran Prix of the European Union and Europa Nostra Award 2016) for Conservation study of the village Gostuša in Pirot district was presented to the public. In colaboration with Arhimedia Group and CIIT lab, Faculty of Electronic Engineering, University of Niš and Architect Aleksandar Radović Foundation, was prepared a multimedia exhibition “Mountain village Gostuša”. Also was organized a debate: “How much is important heritage?”

During the period 05-15.10.2016. in the Gallery of modern art “Serbia”, Milan Obrenović square, visitors could see a multimedia exhibition “Mountain village Gostuša”. The exhibition was created as part of a Research project conducted by the Institute during 2012 and 2013, which are further developed in many different directions. The Institute, in cooperation with Arhimedia Group and CIIT lab, Faculty of Electronic Engineering, University of Niš, completed the exhibition multimedia content, and thus approached the village ambience to visitors, but also gave an overview of other projects awarded Europa Nostra Award 2016.

Presentation of the first European prize for Serbia (Gran Prix of the European Union and Europa Nostra Award 2016) for the Study of Gostuša village in the municipality of Pirot and debate “What is important legacy?” were held 11.10.2016.

Elena Vasić Petrović, director of the Institute for Cultural Heritage Preservation Niš, talk about the award-winning project – The Conservation Study ofthe Village Gostuša in Pirot District and about new European research report about power of our cultural heritage to improve the quality of our lives “CULTURAL HERITAGE COUNTS FOR EUROPE”.
