Study visit to Albania as a part of the project “Destination Medveđa: Crafting the Basic Strategic Document for Cultural Heritage Promotion and Interpretation” marks a crucial step in the collaboration and exchange between the Architect Aleksandar Radović Foundation (AARF) from Serbia and the Albanian Centre for Education, Tourism and Entrepreneurship (CEAPAL).

The project is co-financed by the European Union under the Culture and Creativity for the Western Balkans (CC4WBs) framework, by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AISC) – Tirana.

The primary objective of this visit, organized in the Municipality of Mirdita, was the transfer of knowledge and successful models in cultural tourism, with a specific focus on the local DigiCult-Tour project. Over three full days of an intensive program consisting of presentations, meetings, and site visits, representatives of our foundation had the opportunity to look into sustainable solutions for tourism development and modern models for cultural heritage interpretation and promotion.

The hosts from CEAPAL provided a comprehensive program that included field visits to key localities and direct coordination with local stakeholders, hosts, and guides in Mirdita. The insights and best practices gathered during this exchange will be directly adapted to the context of the Municipality of Medveđa.

The experiences from Albania will serve as a foundation for upcoming local workshops and will be fully integrated into the final Basic Strategic Document, which aims to provide a 5–10 year roadmap for developing authentic tourist products, local souvenirs, and unique cultural routes in Medveđa.
